4 Ways to Maximize Your Agency Relationship

Assuming you’ve already chosen the right agency (hint: it’s us!), here’s some advice to help you get the most out of your relationship and maximize your outcomes. To help bring the highest return on your efforts, a sound marketing strategy and clear communication go hand-in-hand.

1. Develop a clearly defined creative brief.

To set your agency up for success, it’s critical to have defined branding and marketing goals. Without clear parameters, you’re essentially asking your agency to throw darts at a board while wearing a blindfold. The creative brief should explain your company positioning, brand personality, target audience, and any other information that will help guide the process. Your agency will refer back to the brief throughout the project to ensure that everything is on-target and aligned.

2. Discuss your goals, not what you “want” to create.

By focusing on your goals, instead of the item(s) that you want to create, you leave yourself open to new ideas and different tactics that you hadn’t already considered. The best ideas are born through a melting pot of different people’s thoughts and brainstorms. Your agency might have an innovative plan or approach to help you reach your goals—in our experience, the unexpected ideas often turn out to be the most interesting.

3. Bring your ideas, any fodder is good fodder.

It’s always a good idea to get your creative juices flowing before you meet up with your agency. Coming to the table with some pre-brainstormed notes and possible ideas means you can hit the ground running as you kick off your project. These can often help springboard further ideas or discussion. Remember—any idea is a good idea, so don’t discount anything! Be ready to answer questions about your business objectives and sales strategy, because it’s all connected.

4. Time is the magic.

Ensure you leave your agency partner enough time to succeed. Good creative and content takes time to create, and you can’t expect to attain your goals if you don’t give the project enough time to be done the right way. Even the most simple of tasks should be handled with attention and care, as brands are built in the small details—not just the big ones.

A fastidious attention to detail, combined with ultra-responsiveness, is what sets Element Six apart.
